Bigger in 2025! The Bernie Lewis Family and the Harcourts Matthews Family, welcome you to tipping for fun in 2025. This year 5 cash prizes up for grabs, as well as bragging rights. It's Crows vs Power. It's Broker vs client. It's Broker vs Broker. It's bankers vs Brokers.... May the best tipper take home the glory - and the worst tipper the wooden spoon!
Welcome to the Bernie Lewis Home Loans and Harcourts Matthews AFL Footy Tipping competition for 2025.
We absolutely love our Aussie rules footy, and recall the glory days of family footy tips. Think back to when Mum and Dad would be fielding calls from all their keen family and friends with the weekend footy tips. The leaderboard and ladder would be positioned right in the middle of the fridge door, and a little friendly competitive spirit would fire us through the long winter season.
This year we are bringing back AFL footy tipping to our wider family of Bernie Lewis Home Loans / Harcourts Matthews clients and business partners. We also would love you to invite your own family members to join in too. We’d also love for your kids to get involved in the action!
To keep things interesting all season long, we are throwing a little cash prize out there for the top 5 place getters…to the tune of $2,000* shared between the competition’s best tippers. For a few laughs, the bottom placed tipper will be awarded a signed and framed wooden spoon!

- 1st – $1,000 VISA gift card
- 2nd – $500 VISA gift card
- 3rd – $250 VISA gift card
- 4th – $150 VISA gift card
- 5th – $100 VISA gift card
- Last – Personally signed and framed wooden spoon
Competition Rules
Please refer to the competition rules below, before entering as a participant:
- The competition runs from the Opening Round (beginning Thursday 6th of March) to the end of Round 24
- 1 point is awarded for every correct tip each round – no bonus points
- If you fail to get your tips in by the start of a game you get the away team. The most points you can get if you miss your tips completely for a round is 5 points
- For one game each round you are asked to predict the winning margin. The closer you get to the actual margin for each of these games across the season the lower your cumulative margin will be. In the event of a tie between participants at the end of the season the person with the lower cumulative margin will place higher. If a tie remains, prizes are shared equally.

COMPETITION ELIGIBILITY
Entry is only open to clients and business partners of Bernie Lewis Home Loans and Harcourts Matthews (the Promoter). We also welcome family, friends and co-workers of our clients and business partners. Individuals must be a real person and a legal resident of Australia. Only one entry per client permitted. Entrants will only be eligible for one prize. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who the Promoter believes either has tampered with the entry process or has submitted an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Bernie Lewis Home Loans / Harcourts Matthews employees and contractors are eligible to participate in the competition, but are ineligible to win any of the promoted prizes.
COMPETITION TIMELINE
The competition runs from the Opening Round (beginning Thursday 6th of March) to the end of Round 24 (date to be confirmed)
PRIZES
1st place = $1K VISA Gift Card
2nd place = $500 VISA Gift Card
3rd place = $250 VISA Gift Card
4th place = $150 VISA Gift Card
5th place = $100 VISA Gift Card
Special Round Prize* to be confirmed. Prize announcement will be made by email communication from Bernie Lewis Home Loans in due course.
Winners will be notified by email, with the relevant VISA gift card to be collected from a Bernie Lewis Home Loans office.
The tipper with the most correct tips between the opening round and round 24 (inclusive) wins. Where tips are tied for any place the tipper with the lowest total margin for the season (opening round to round 24 inclusive) places higher. If a tie remains, prizes are shared equally. Total prize pool is $2,000 only.
The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained as a consequence of the use and enjoyment of the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage to the prize. The prize is not redeemable for cash or any other prize.
The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions or any instructions or directions on this site, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the competition. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved. Entrants are required to provide truthful information, and the Promoter will reject and delete any entry that it discovers to be false or fraudulent. All entries and information from entries become the property of the Promoter.
USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
By entering this competition entrants consent to the Promoter displaying their name and/or image, should they win, on the Bernie Lewis Home Loans / Harcourts Matthews Facebook page, web page and marketing materials.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
The Promoter assumes no responsibility or liability in the event that the Competition cannot be conducted as planned for any reason, including those reasons beyond the control of the Promoter, such as infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or corruption of the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Competition. If for any reason this Competition is not capable of running as planned in any respect due to any cause beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right, subject to the written directions of any relevant authority, in its sole discretion to cancel, postpone or amend the Competition.
