International Women’s Day
Every year on the 8th of March men and women alike from all around the globe come together to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. This celebration is known as International Women’s Day. This year, the International Women’s Day campaign theme is ‘Break The Bias’. According to the official website, this theme is explained as follows: “Whether deliberate or unconscious, bias makes it difficult for women to move ahead. Knowing that bias exists isn’t enough. Action is needed to level the playing field.”
Traditionally, the world of finance has always been a bit of a ‘man’s game’, especially when it comes to executive positions which have predominantly been filled by men.
Nowadays, we are starting to see more and more women popping up in the mostly male-dominated finance industry; however, there are still too few in executive roles.
To celebrate growing numbers of women making it to the top, we thought we’d highlight some inspirational women within Bernie Lewis Home Loans who are out there smashing goals and breaking glass ceilings in the mortgage industry.
Vera Mortimer – has been a consistently high achiever throughout her 25 years with Bernie Lewis Home Loans. The Vera Mortimer Award was brought in 7 years ago to honour her dedication and high achievements within the company and the mortgage industry. Vera was awarded a position in the top 50 brokers nationally at the MFAA awards.
Cindy Schofield – Cindy Schofield is a mortgage broker at Bernie Lewis Home Loans with over 17 years experience in the banking and financial services industry. Providing the highest level of client care and personalised service to all her clients, Cindy can save them time, money and provide complete peace of mind. Cindy is currently on track to be the highest performing female mortgage broker within Bernie Lewis Home Loans for 2022!
Luisa Mercurio – has been a mortgage broker with Bernie Lewis Home Loans for nearly 20 years and has been involved in the banking and finance industry for over 30 years. Luisa is consistently one of the highest achievers within Bernie Lewis Home Loans. Luisa provides her clients with advice on home loans, investment loans, business loans and commercial loans. Luisa offers a personalised, caring and friendly approach to providing financial solutions that meet her clients’ individual needs. She also speaks fluent Italian.
Vikkie Hannam – Vikkie has worked as a mortgage broker with Bernie Lewis Home Loans for over 14 years and has worked in the banking industry for 30 years. She is an experienced broker who prides herself on offering her clients a fantastic service in home lending and helping them through today’s ‘complexity of writing a home loan’. Vikkie and her husband Paul, are proud sponsors of the Adelaide Football Club’s player, Nick Murray.
Cassandra Stoodley – Cassandra has worked as a mortgage broker with Bernie Lewis Home Loans for over 14 years and has been in the finance industry for more than twenty. She is friendly and approachable and is always willing to help her clients understand the lending process and their options for their specific situation. She prides herself on making the whole process easy and stress free for her clients. She is happy to provide advice on home loans, refinancing, construction loans and investment loans. Cassandra is proudly involved with the committees of a number of sporting clubs in the Southern region including the Morphett Vale Football Club and the Southport Surf Life Saving Club.
