Bernie Lewis is a back-to-back winner of one of Australia’s most prestigious mortgage business excellence awards.
The Adelaide-based financial services company has been honoured with the Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) Mortgage Broking Business of the Year Award for 2012.
The award, which Bernie Lewis also won in 2011, recognises the company for outstanding achievements in mortgage broking and integrated financial advice.
Chief Executive Officer, Stefan Lipkiewicz, said the award, presented in Sydney on Friday night, was a “giant tribute” to the leadership team and staff of Bernie Lewis, which is this year celebrating its 25th anniversary.
“The company founded by the late Bernie Lewis, has evolved beyond brokering home loans for more than 90,000 clients to also provide financial advice to clients across a range of services including insurance, superannuation and investments,” Mr Lipkiewicz said.
“Our business has grown to employ over 80 staff across five metropolitan Adelaide locations with $2.8 billion in mortgages and wealth under advice.
“There have been many challenges in home lending over the past year, but Bernie Lewis continues to offer exceptional service in the mortgage market and through our integrated advice model of lifetime financial advice.”
Bernie Lewis has set minimum professional qualifications for its mortgage advisers and it has implemented on-going professional development programs for its advisers and employees.
“We are truly proud of our reputation and the loyalty of our clients,” Mr Lipkiewicz said. “We are a South Australian born and based company and it is an honour to be acknowledged for the second year in a row at the forefront of business excellence on a national scale.”
