Accreditation and Memberships
MFAA member
Both our business and each of our consultants are fully accredited members of the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA). The MFAA is the peak representative body for mortgage and finance brokers in Australia. The association promotes ethical business conducts, works cooperatively with state and national Governments, offers industry training, provides relevant legal guidance and encourages industry networking.
Mark Lewis, managing director of Bernie Lewis Home Loans, is currently the national president of the MFAA.
It is important that when dealing with a mortgage broker you ensure the consultant is MFAA accredited. This provides you with peace of mind knowing that the consultant you are dealing with is trained, experienced and operates according to the industry’s ethical and legal requirements.
The MFAA was formerly known as the MIAA (Mortgage Industry Association of Australia). The association changed its name as of 1 February 2007.
COSL
Bernie Lewis Home Loans and each Accredited Mortgage Consultant are members of the Credit Ombudsman Service Limited (COSL). The Credit Ombudsman Service provides its members and customers with an alternative method for resolving their disputes efficiently and independent of the legal system. COSL is an ASIC approved external dispute resolution service.
